Pleckgate staff and pupils went in front of a camera, used their artistic skills and of course celebrated reading for World Book Day.
Year 7s talked to Mrs Faruki about their favourite books, authors and what inspires them to read, on camera for the school’s social media platforms. The English Department, among others, decorated their doors and some of them really had the ‘Wow’ factor. They were adorned with themes from Harry Potter, Five Night’s at Freddy’s and Silver Eyes, among others.
Librarian Mrs Hanson held a ‘Book in a Jar’ competition for Years 7 and 8 while Blackburn Library gave a live talk about the Borrowbox app.
There was plenty of reading in class with a wide range of books on offer as pupils made sure they celebrated this important day in the calendar.
