Uzair is a top runner but his dream is to be a boxer.
The Year 11 pupil came second in the Blackburn with Darwen Schools Cross Country at Witton Park and will now represent Lancashire at the National Cross-Country Championships which will be in Shropshire in February.
However, Uzair’s first love is in the ring.
“I won the cross-country last year but this year I came second. I think I started off a bit slowly and I wasn’t far behind!” said Uzair.
“It was against Years 10, 11 and Sixth Form pupils so it was competitive.
“I run every day because I am a boxer.
“I box now at Powerbox in the 55kg category and have had two skill bouts and two fights.
“I want to take my boxing further and running is a big part of it.”
