It was a tasty start to charity week for Pleckgate High School pupils who tucked into cakes during break.
The school is having a week of fundraising as part of the Islamic Relief Organisation’s ‘Unite Our Powers’ week.
As well as cake sales, there will be a TV show for Year Sevens, a teacher v pupils football match and, the most highly anticipated day, Sponge The Teacher!
The Islamic Relief Organisation is raising funds for Muslim and non-Muslim children around the world, children who are living in poverty, missing out on education and unsure of their futures.
“At Pleckgate, our pupils are very generous and the cake sale to start the week was a huge success,” said Mrs Wheatley, who helped to organise the charity week.
“We have got various events going on throughout the week and parents, guardians and our pupils always respond well to helping others.”
