Head of Religion and World Views Mrs Savage has been involved with charity One Voice Blackburn’s Christmas project.
The campaign is ‘I’m a Muslim and I love the festive period’ and was launched in 2015 as a community cohesion initiative.
The charity, who holds the Queens Award for Volunteer Services, have produced a series of videos where people of all ages from a Muslim background talk about how they also enjoy the festive season.
Last year the charity designed its own bauble which was placed on Christmas trees around Blackburn town centre and this year members have bought baubles to give to neighbours who celebrate Christmas.
Mrs Savage received a bauble from her Muslim neighbour and said: “Christmas is a time for celebration and bringing people together.
“It is a time to think of others and spread happiness and this campaign helps celebrate all of these things.
“Having a Christmas tree with the twinkling lights and sparkling decorations brings us happiness on the dark winter nights and now I have a special bauble from new friends that helps remind me of the amazing community I am part of.”
