Fifteen pupils had an action-packed day with everything from football to creative arts as part of Blackburn College’s Creative Arts Industry Day.
Pupils visited Cookson and Clegg Clothing manufacturers in the morning and had a tour and a talk about their business which is based around clothing which is good for people, communities, customers and the planet.
They then went to Ewood Park to learn all about how the media department works at Blackburn Rovers Football Club. They went on a tour of the grounds including the press room and the reporter’s section. Pupils learnt about how media is used to promote kits, memorabilia and fixtures.
The pupils spent the afternoon at Blackburn College and completed various Creative Arts Activities such as working in a recording studio.
Mrs Spence, Learning Pastoral Support Officer, said: “This was an exciting day for 15 of our pupils as they learnt about how creative arts can lead to jobs by visiting a local business, see how the media department works at Blackburn Rovers and also take part in a host of activities at the college.”
