Year 10’s take part in a Model United Nations at Lancaster University

Head of Religion and World Views Mrs Savage took three Year 10 pupils to Lancaster University to take part in a Model United Nations with other schools.

The three-day event was organised through the Olive Branch Award with Solutions not Sides.
The pupils are Tuba, Subaiah and Mannat and the topic they were trying to find a resolution for was: ‘Creating a roadmap to peace for Israel-Palestine.’
Mrs Savage said about the event: “I am so proud of our Year 10s. They held their own in the negotiations, which has been so impressive since they are the youngest group here.”
Tuba said: “The MUN was really intense and has given us an insight into politics.
“It has been so engaging and we have learnt so much about what is going on around the world.
“It has been a great way to develop our public speaking skills as well as collaborating with other students across the UK. We would really recommend this experience to others.”
Congratulations to Tuba, who received the award for “Most Improved.”
