Pleckgate’s Year 7 football team, captained by Ali Master, won all their four matches to be crowned champions of the Blackburn with Darwen B Team League with Ayaan Aslam scoring a hat-trick in every game.
Both left winger Zayan Akhtar and midfielder Abdullah Zaffar attend the Development Centre at Blackburn Rovers and many others in the team are playing football at weekends for various teams to the delight of Mr Haworth.
Pleckgate’s Year 8 football team are also champions of the Blackburn with Darwen B Team League having won three of their four matches, beating Blackburn Central, Our Lady and St John’s and Westholme.
Faisal Shireen scored a hat-trick in the first game while Kian Gregson was top scorer with eight goals altogether.
One of their team, Mohammed-Hussain Bux, attends the Development Centre at Blackburn Rovers.
Mr Haworth and Mr Pickup are both very proud of the hard work and commitment all the year 7 and year 8 football boys have shown throughout the season so far and look forward to more success in the future.
