Year 8 rounders
Congratulations to the dedicated girls participating in the rounders club this term, gearing up for upcoming fixtures post half-term. The Year 8 girls’ rounders team practices every Wednesday after school from 3:00 to 4:30 pm. They kicked off strong with a victory against the year 7 team, securing an impressive score of 11-8.
Year 7 Cricket
The Year 7 cricket team has been diligently training every Monday, with about 30 enthusiastic students. To boost participation, we plan to host an inter-tutor tournament this summer to involve as many players as possible in competitive cricket matches. The students delivered a high-quality performance in their inaugural game, showcasing impressive batting skills.
With improvements in fielding, Mr. Haworth is hopeful about the team’s potential for growth and success in earning recognition for our school. Captain Zain stands out as a remarkable talent worth watching. He represents Rishton CC and Lancashire outside of school and served as an excellent example to his peers during the event.
Year 8 Cricket
The Year 8 Cricket team played their inaugural match away at BCHS. Due to some injuries and illnesses, we had several last-minute replacements who performed admirably. The first match is naturally tense, and despite the outstanding effort put in by the team, nerves affected our performance and led to a loss. Nevertheless, the boys can be proud of their composed fielding and strong finish in batting, which should boost their confidence moving forward.
Year 9 and 10 Cricket
The year 9 & 10 cricketers have been practicing their bowling and batting ahead of the upcoming season
